Our Company
As part of the Nelson community for over 15 years, we pride ourselves on buying local and working locally. We are a small boutique business which focuses on keeping volume low in order produce the best instruments possible without cutting any corners. We hope we bring a very personal touch to every instrument we produce, and every instrument leaves our shop with a little piece of us.
We use predominantly locally sourced materials although we have and will continue to work with more exotic woods when the need arises. We use locally sourced Spruce, Cedar and Fir for our sound boards, and Birch and Black Locust for our backs and sides. With the current state of climate change we believe that we must do our part in protecting the earth (and particularly parts of the third world from deforestation). The discovery of Black Locust in our area has been instrumental in this regard, as it is invasive in the Kootenays, but it is very hard and has excellent acoustics properties and has very interesting figure and colour as well.
We look forward to talking with you about your Ukulele vision. Bring joy to the world with your playing, and keep those Uke's strumming!
